Complete Cargo Resource Aviation Security
Aviation Security is our core business which we’ve been involved in since 1993 when the UK regulations were introduced. We have been offering training for Avsec since 2004.
Currently we offer 2 courses online for the basic levels and classroom training for the remaining levels as we feel these are more advanced because they involve screening and security planning.
Unlike most training companies our instructors actually do the job at an operational or warehouse level so our courses are tailored to be relevant to the job in hand, whether that be an Export Clerk, Manager or X Ray Operator.
This provides the student with the best opportunity to gain the practical knowledge based upon real situations facing cargo agents on a day-to-day basis.
We offer the following courses.
Cargo Aviation Security Principles (Online Available)
This is the basic Avsec course suitable for those who are not physically handling Export Cargo and do not require access to areas where SPX cargo is stored such as admin and import staff
Cargo Operative – Non Screening (Online Available)
This is our most popular course and is the common qualification for Export Operations Staff and Warehouse Staff who are non-screening. This covers all the basics of the Cargo Agents Regulations and completion of Consignment Security Declarations. As well as our online option this course works very well in the classroom as topics such as airline rejections can be discussed in a group setting.
Cargo Operative – Screening – X Ray, Hand Search & Explosive Trace Detection
This course is for those who are screening cargo, in addition to the basics in the Cargo Operative course, this course teaches the appropriate levels for those working in the warehouse environment depending on the job function We offer full X-Ray operator training where required and “buddy training” for the initial 10 hours, this is followed by our own competency test to ensure that the operator can both operate the machine and spot our covert test IED’s
Cargo DNXCT Test
We administer the Digital National X Ray Competency Test (DNXCT)
This is usually done at your premises by one of our authorised Test Managers.
Cargo Supervisor
This course is in addition to either the CO (screening & non-screening) or CASP course and is for those who perform supervisory functions.
The course teaches how to be an effective and compliant supervisor in an air cargo environment.
Cargo Manager / Local Manager
We run this course in a slightly different way to other training providers, the initial part is within the classroom and looks at the regulations in detail and the basics of security planning and writing a compliant security programme. Depending on the job function this is sometimes combined with a screening overview course for those who will be managing a screening operation.
We are of the opinion that Local Managers need ongoing advice and support so anyone attending our LM course has access to our group of professionals and other Local Managers to ensure they are working to “best practice” rather than box ticking.
